[UK's STATE CENSORSHIP]

We have been forced to geo-block access from the United Kingdom to the lgbtqia.space services and community.

This action is a direct result of the UK's Orwellian "Online Safety Act" a piece of legislation that, despite its name, is incredibly dangerous to online privacy and makes the internet absolutely not safe for marginalized communities and the volunteers who run services like this one.

Our condolences on the loss of freedom of expression.

The image above shows Nazi officials inspecting art they labelled "degenerate". This state-run exhibition was designed to ridicule and condemn modern and "pornographic" art. It was a tool for the Nazis to enforce a narrow, state-approved culture and to censor anything considered un-German or "impure."

"Among this painted and drawn pornography, there are prints and pictures that one can no longer even display within the 'Degenerate Art' exhibition, considering that women will also be visiting this show. It is utterly incomprehensible to every person in our Germany today that just a few years ago, specifically during the rule of the Center Party under Heinrich Brüning, such abysmal filth, so much depravity, and such blatant criminality were allowed to appeal unchecked to the basest instincts of subhumanity under the motto 'freedom of art'." — Fritz Kaiser, 1937 Source

The nazi regime's central justification for this censorship was the supposed protection of public morals and the nation's youth. The official exhibition guide is filled with rhetoric about saving the public from "degenerate" influences.

"Where there is dire need and imminent danger, one must act without too much hesitation. If one too many books flies into the fire tonight, it does not do as much harm as if one too few flew into the flames." — Hans Naumann, 1933 Source

These historical events should be a warning of how the pretext of "children" can be used to justify censorship, the erosion of freedom of expression, and the dismantling of democracy itself. When a government grants itself the power to define what art and idea is "harmful," it creates a mechanism that will be used to silence any community, art form, or idea that deviates from the approved norm.

For too long, many online services which allow porn and other harmful material have ignored the fact that children are accessing their services. Either they don’t ask or, when they do, the checks are minimal and easy to avoid. That means companies have effectively been treating all users as if they’re adults, leaving children potentially exposed to porn and other types of harmful content. Today, this starts to change. — Melanie Dawes, Ofcom’s Chief Executive, 2025 Source

Britain is building an architecture of media censorship. To read "harmful" content, you are forced to upload your ID and undergo face scans, and those who refuse to betray their community and users must hide behind geo-blocks the UK is forcing upon the internet. This is book-burning of the digital age, and the data collected will eventually be turned against the UK's citizens.
